GENUITY ROUNDUP READY 2 YIELD
The next generation of Roundup Resistance for syobeans, Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield takes the same gene as the traditional Roundup soybeans use but inserts the gene more precisely and cleanly into the DNA of these new varieties. This should help to deliver significantly more yield than traditional Roundups. Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield varieties are released on the condition they have an average of 7-11% more yield than commonly sold varieties sold in their maturity.
All Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield will come treated with Acceleron seed treatment to assure maximum protection and yield expression against soil borne diseases such as Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Pythium, and early season control of Bean Leaf Beetles and Ahpids.
Because all Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans are treated, there is a "no return" policy on these beans.
Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield beans will come packaged in 140,000 seed paper bags and 7,000,000 seed handler bulk boxes (size permitting) for much easier figuring of seed needs and consistent price per acre cost. Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield will not be available in bulk bags.

CONVENTIONAL
In the last couple of years we are seeing a resurgence of customers growing conventional beans over Roundup Ready. The main reasons are:
- Higher yields - across the state, growers, including our own farm, have noticed 5-10 bu yield advantages over Roundup Ready varieties.
- Lower cost of production - with substantially lower cost of seed and new effective lower cost conventional herbicides give a $20.00 per acre advantage to conventional beans.
- More markets - by planting conventional or food grade beans you have the option of selling locally as regular beans or selling to specialty plants that pay premiums for conventional beans used to produce tofu.
- Higher quality - for end users of soybeans for livestock, conventional beans typically run a higher test weight, bean size, and protein content.
